The first 2 weeks at Taco Bell were hectic.  I was finishing out my notice at McDonald's and training for my new position as crew at Taco Bell.  I was excited to begin this new opportunity in my life.  I mean c'mon getting a 60 cent raise to start a new job, great right?

I had originally wanted to start out my new career in tacos as a day person.  I was tired of the night shift and wanted to get onto a more human schedule.  Plus I had "friends" now that I could hang out with at the bar.  Boy did my expectations change.

What they really hired me for was night shift.  Honestly looking back, it was probably better this way.  I have never been, nor will I ever be a morning person.  My sleep schedule was all sorts of messed up and would only continue to go that way.  But the people I worked with were AWESOME!

So here's the story, when you work they have to have at least 8 scheduled hours between your scheduled shifts.  Meaning that if you work 8pm to 4am (aka bar rush), the earliest you can be scheduled the next day is 12pm the next day.  Let me tell you it is very hard to do that and continue to be a pleasant human being.  I mean seriously I ended up living off coffee and energy drinks.

I did really enjoy working at Taco Bell and would recommend it to anyone looking to start a job.  They really do (at least the one here in Sault Ste. Marie) work with you to accommodate your schedule and there is so much room for growth.

I started off as a crew member.  Six months later I was promoted to Crew Trainer.  A Crew Trainer does just that, train incoming employees.  Shortly after that I was promoted to Shift Lead.   This meant I was in charge of everything that went on in the store during the shifts I was scheduled.  Ok so real talk.  I suck at telling people what to do and hate confrontation.  That was my downfall.
